Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations.  One of the most important values of West Vanceboro Church of God is our mission to the world.  It begins in our own community and spreads overseas to every nation.  West Vanceboro members are involved in a variety of ministries that are as simple as being a helpmate for others to preparing the church bulletins.

Beyond the Walls – Mission Outreach

It is our vision to progressively reach those who are without God and who are in need with the message and hope of Jesus Christ.  We actively participate in reaching out to others in our community and around the world.  Our four areas of mission outreach include

Streets, the Sick, Shut-ins, and Someone in need.

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for.  Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry.  Some play their instruments.  Some are vocalists.  Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of West Vanceboro Church of God, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

West Side Students Ministries

West Side youth services are Sunday nights at 6:00 PM.  We believe that teens are valuable and worth the investment!  Our youth are not just the church for tomorrow but the church of today; therefore, we believe that every teenager has potential, and we are committed in helping  teens find their calling and life purpose in Christ Jesus.

  • Praise and Worship
  • Ministry of Mime and Drama
  • Illustrated and Relevant Sermons through means of anointing, the word of God, and media
  • Youth and Discipleship Classes every Wednesday night at 7:30 PM

Ushers

The usher team at West Vanceboro Church of God fills an important role.  This team is involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free.  The usher team is a group of men with servants’ hearts whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of West Vanceboro Church of God.  In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools for kingdom purposes.  All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website..  We also maintain an active Facebook page for additional church communication.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer can NEVER be under-estimated.  Prayer moves the hand of God.  West Vanceboro Church of God is a body of believers dependent upon prayer and committed to God’s sovereignty.  Each Sunday during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word.  Throughout the week, volunteers in our Prayer Warriors’ team pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs.  Each Monday, the church comes together for a special time of prayer for our families, church, and nation.  We invite you to become a part of this vital ministry within our church.

Children’s Services

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, West Vanceboro Church of God holds a children’s worship service in conjunction with the morning worship service.  This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles.  Our friendly volunteers have an endless stream of creativity– ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons.

Welcome Team Ministry
The First Impressions team exist to ensure that every person entering the building is greeted and that guests are offered assistance, as appropriate, so that everyone feels important and welcome and is able to find his or her desired destination easily.  This is front line ministry and so very important to us and our guest.

Nursery
Children are a gift from God and loving on them is a blessing from heaven.  Be sure to volunteer in our nursery.  Nursery is in conjunction with our Sunday morning worship service and Celebrate Recovery worship service on Thursday nights.
